Children are our most valuable resources to the
long term economic growth and development of our cities. Our future
directly depends on how well our children become educated in high
school, go on to college and universities, find good jobs, and
return to their neighborhoods to reinvest in their
communities.
Unfortunately, some students, for whatever reason, fall through
the cracks and begin a spiral downfall that ultimately leads to
dropping out of school. There is a tremendous ripple effect that
impacts a community many years later when a child becomes truant
and drops out of school.
- A student missing out on school lose the opportunity to
get a quality education to better him or
herself.
- Our School District loses revenue each time a child
misses instruction. Dollars that would have otherwise been spent on
children in our area schools.
- Truants who have nothing better to do tend to break the
law and become a problem for neighborhoods and law
enforcement.
- Many companies base their decisions to locate in
certain areas based on the number of college
graduates.
The Justice of the Peace & Tarrant County
Constable's Office Pct. 7 work closely with our area schools to
insure children are getting the best education possible. In most
situations the schools initiate this process. If you are personally
aware of an ongoing problem, fill out the

US and we will get with the school on the issue or
we may even pick the students up and take them to
school.
